Under the Covers: Imagine Dragons - Stolen Dance [Milky Chance Cover]

Feels like: Vance Joy, Sam Smith, Family of the Year, Dirty Gold, Wake Owl, Matrimony, Slam Donahue

Do you miss Gotye's "Somebody that I used to know"?  Ready to get addicted again?  Well here is one of the most addicting songs of the past few months "Stolen Dance" being covered by our second favorite Las Vegas band, Imagine Dragons [sorry guys, the Killers will always be one of my favorite all time].  Give it a click, I promise you'll have it stuck in your head in no time.  Also, I made the artwork above, no big deal.

Headed to Hangout: Charles Bradley and his Extraordinaires - The World [Is Going Up In Flames]

Feels like: Otis Redding, James Brown, Mavis Staples, Alabama Shakes

So we've had the distinct pleasure of seeing this man, this legend, this hero, give his all at a live performance.  He is the king of cool, the screamin eagle of soul, and he is gracing us with an appearance at Hangout Fest this summer.  I can't wait to be at the front row for all of his hip thrusting, chest stroking and James Brown splitting antics.  See y'all there!

The Whigs - Kill Me Carolyne/The Particular

Feels like: Deer Tick, The Orwells, Delta Spirit, Dr. Dog, Benjamin Booker, J Roddy Walston and the Business

We had the absolute pleasure of seeing The Whigs last night live at 3rd and Lindsley.  Once again they put on a hell of a show of pure rock and roll.  If you haven't seen these guys live, you really need to get on that.  I saw them way back at the Star 94 Jingle Jam in 2003 where they opened for Jessica Simpson, Sarah McLachlan and Bare Naked Ladies [I know, that is the most random lineup ever].  They are a huge talent out of Athens and I hope they keep bringing us great music.  So without further ado, I present an older favorite of theirs "Kill Me Carolyne" and then my absolute favorite off their new album "The Particular".

Reptar - Cable

Sounds like: Bloc Party, Talking Heads, The Cars, Vacationer, Rubblebucket

Well here we go!  Another awesome album on the way from one of our absolute favorites Reptar.  These guys are just plain good at making weird and funky into catchy and hella good all at once.  This new one is a great preview of what I hope is on the way from the new album "Lurid Glow" coming out March 31st.

We met these guys at Hangoutfest 2 years ago, and then again at Bonnaroo.  If you have the chance to catch them live, I promise you, it is quite the show.  They have so much energy and fun, and it always turns into an awesome dance party.  And not surprisingly, these guys are from partyville Athens, GA, where the good times and great music are always walking hand in hand.  Now do yourself a favor and clickey clickey on play.
