Feels Like: Mayer Hawthorne, Wax Tailor, Fitz and the Tantrums, John Legend
RJD2, well known for his now iconic work on the breakbeat intro for the opening credits of AMC's Mad Men, released his fifth full length studio album , More Is Than Isn't, in early October which included this soulful little tune. The breakbeat artist continues to deliver here with his surprising and unique fusion of influences that at the same time sound familiar and completely original. I know its cliche, but its almost 100% true. "Tempermental" has RJD2 enlisting the rather unlikely help of Phonte Coleman (half of the sadly-split Little Brother rap duo) on the R&B vocals. Phonte, to my joyful surprise, shines an perfectly complements the jazzed-out soul vibe of the track. Grab some late night tuneage, check out "Tempermental" below and grab the full album here. The late night humpday trifecta.
