Sounds Like: Wild Cub, HAERTS, Two Door Cinema Club
I don't mean to sound like somebody's disgruntled grandfather, but music can and has been convoluted as of recent. With so much cross-genre borrowing and influence, it's getting easier and easier to wonder and conclude to yourself, "What was I just listening to? No idea". Not to say that this isn't a fascinating trend in the overall pursuit of artistic originality in modern music, but it can get a little confusing. In the same breath, sometimes pop is just pop. I think The Colourist has really keyed on that concept with their latest release "Litte Games". The tight laced guitars and upbeat rhythms are a perfect fit for the season and say "Yeah, this is pop music. Dig it.". Well, to me at least. Jam out to the link below, and swing by their show when the swing by you on tour.
